Back in 2014, my journey with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) began. At that time, the certification offered was service-based, not role-based.
In 2018, GCP introduced the Associate Cloud Engineer exam, which I took and successfully passed. It was a challenging exam, and in 2020, I went through the process of renewing it. At that time, the certification was valid for two years.
However, in the middle of 2022, I received some great news – the validity period of the ACE certification was extended to three years. This meant I didn’t have to retake the same exam as frequently as before, as GCP typically updated their certification exams every 18-30 months.
Recently, I received an exciting email stating that Google is testing a new method for renewing the GCP ACE exam through LABs. I couldn’t be happier, as my exam renewal is approaching, and I now have the opportunity to try out this new renewal approach.
I quickly signed up for the LAB-based ACE exam and am eagerly waiting for confirmation. I’ll make sure to keep you updated on how it goes. Fingers crossed for a successful renewal!
If you want to try this beta testing kind of experience then here is the guide by Google and the registration link is inside – https://services.google.com/fh/files/misc/ace_renewal_lab_exam.pdf
This may expire post the testing period will be over.
All the best to everyone
